Vitor Fernando de Carvalho Campelos is 45 years old and was born in Guimarães, where he was born on May 11, 1975. Passionate about football, it was on the field, as a player, where he began a career that has always been linked to the king sport. However, his passion for training soon convinced him to invest in training, having completed a degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences from ISMAI .

Vitor Campelos also holds the UEFA PRO coaching level IV course,  having started his off-field career as a physical trainer at GD Serzedelo in 2000, later moving to GD Ribeirão in 2002. In the same role, he also worked at FC  Paços de Ferreira , Disp. Aves ,  Leixões SC , UD Leiria and FC  Moreirense, being part of a technical team led by José Gomes, and having participated in European competitions through the Intertoto Cup in 2005/06 .

In 2007, he would respond positively to a challenge launched by the Portuguese coach António Oliveira (Toni) and would head for his first adventure outside Portugal, becoming an assistant at Al Ettifaq where he was a finalist in the Golf Cup and the Prince Cup . Still with Toni, he was later at  Al Sharjah participating in the Asian Champions League , at  Al Ittihad where he became Saudi runner-up,  reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League. In 2012-2013, with  Tractor Sazi FC , he would once again gain a prominent place by, against all odds, securing the runner-up , disputing, again, the Asian Champions League .

“Before being an excellent professional, it is fundamental to be a good human being”.

Six years later, he took on the challenge of being the head coach of Videoton FC “B” , from Hungary, achieving success in the adventure for the Magyars, with the club’s best ranking ever  (4th place). In January 2015, Vitor Campelos agreed to return to Portugal, albeit on a difficult project like CD Trofense.

“When we really want something and believe in it from the heart, with a lot of work and dedication, things end up happening”.

In 2017/18, he completed his third season as coach of Vitória SC “B” , being responsible for launching many of the young talents who, meanwhile, “jumped” into the main team. In terms of sport, he successfully managed to stay in the Portuguese second division , contributing to the remarkable use that the Guimarães team has had of the  products of its formation. The success of his time at Vitória SC was underlined by winning the Coach of the Year Trophy at the Minho club's Gala. At the start of the 2019/20 season he took charge of Moreirense FC, in the main football league in Portugal, leaving the team in 11th place in the championship, with 17 points in 14 rounds.

In January 2020, Vitor Campelos once again embraced an experience on the Asian continent to lead the technical command of Al Tawoon in Saudi Arabia. In February 2021 he accepted the invitation to take over the technical command of the historic Grupo Desportivo de Chaves.

In 2022, Vítor Campelos managed to culminate the season with the remarkable feat of eliminating Moreirense FC in the promotion playoff and securing
GD Chaves qualification to Portugal's top tier. In the 2022/2023 season, with solid and consistent performances, the club achieved an impressive 7th place in the Portuguese league.

In 2023/2024, Vítor Campelos accepted the challenge of taking over as head coach of Gil Vicente FC
